The development and the implementation of a system like LDACS include various topics of research. Many of these topics go beyond the pure functionality of LDACS, as defined in the system specification.

Various institutions have conducted research in the field of LDACS and published the results at international conferences and in journals. In the following, we describe the LDACS development beyond the Technical Overview given under the “About LADCS” rider and the LDACS specification covering the LDACS design (receiver, protocol) and the LDACS Implementation and Validation.
